Use Existing Home Phone to Talk to Guest at Front Door and then Remotely Let Them in.
Potential Problem:
- Do some of your clients have difficulty getting up to answer their front door?
- Do they have care providers come into their home throughout the day?
- Do they leave the front door unlocked all day?
What if they could answer their front door from any telephone in their home?
Even better – What if they could let the person in with the touch of a phone key?
Simple Operations:

When a guest comes to the door, they will press the Call button on the intercom speaker installed outside next to the door. This will cause all the telephones in the home to ring with a distinctive ring, alerting the resident that a guest is at the door. The resident picks up any telephone and begins speaking with the guest at the front door.
Once the guest is identified, the resident can decide to let the guest in by simply touching the “*” key on the telephone. The door latch will open, allowing the guest to push the door open. When the door is closed, the installed latch release will lock and keep the door locked.
Case Study
Ron has multiple sclerosis and has difficulty getting up and down to unlock the front door to let his helpers in. So, he does what many do, he leaves the front door unlocked — all day — vulnerable to anyone walking right in.
After installing our intercom and remote door system, Ron now leaves his door locked — all the time — and feels much safer.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Will my key still work to lock and unlock my door?
A: Your existing key, lock and knob still operate as normal.
Q: What happens if I have a power failure, will the door stay unlocked?
A: Yes. If the power fails, the door will remain locked and will require the door key or manually unlocking the door.
Q: Will my alarm system or emergency pendant still work?
A: Yes. The alarm system and emergency pendant will continue working as normal.

The installation requires low voltage wiring installed between the incoming telephone line and the door latch system. Wires will be hidden were reasonably possible. Existing door knob and key continue to work normally. Door latch installation will require modifications to the door frame. The latch transformer and intercom system are each plugged into convenient existing electrical outlets.
