Handyman Matters – St. Louis was founded in 2004 as the 44th franchise in the Handyman Matters system. The company started in owner Chuck Healy’s basement, and the first call came before we had any craftsmen, for a attic fan. This was a break, because Chuck had some idea of what that was! That customer, who is still a customer today, was very patient and was willing to wait a week “because we’re booked.” Chuck then got busy hiring his first craftsman. Today, Handyman Matters St. Louis has 8 employees and an office in the Ballwin.

We specialize in small to mid-sized remodeling and repair for both residential and commercial customers, from jobs as small as adjusting a door knob or fixing a leaky faucet, and as large as a full bathroom, kitchen, or basement remodel. One call can do it all!

Do We Really Do It All?

Handyman Matters may not do absolutely everything, but we come close! We can handle  most projects around the home or workplace: electrical, plumbing, drywall/plaster, tile, and carpentry. If we come across something that is not a good fit for us, we always make sure that the customer is referred to another company that we know and trust.

Our People

Chuck Healy, President/CEO

Handyman Matters – St. Louis is owned by Chuck Healy, who opened the office in 2004 in his basement with one craftsman. Before Handyman Matters, Chuck spent 22 years various sales, marketing, and general business management roles in the publishing industry, ranging from sales representative to Vice President, Marketing. Chuck can do a few things around the house but is much more typical of our customers – a busy professional who would rather spend his time with his family rather than taking on projects that he may or may not complete.

Chuck and his lovely wife of 28 years, Lynne, are residents of Ballwin. MO. They have three children, Jay (20), Sarah (18), and Tim (10), and they are active in their church, and in both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America. The current family pet line-up includes Sammy the calico cat, and Fred the Fish, who has survived two years of living on the kitchen counter.

Chuck is a proud graduate of Virginia Tech with a BS degree in Marketing Management, and his favorite time and place in the world (besides St. Louis anytime, of course!) is Blacksburg, VA on a football weekend.

Megan Yankowski, Customer Service Representative

The friendly voice most customers hear when they call us belongs to Megan, our customer service rep. She is responsible for discussing projects with our customers, explaining what we do, providing initial estimates, and handling scheduling issues as they arise.  It’s a bit like keeping a dozen plates spinning on the top of poles, like on the old TV show! Megan comes to us from a local Farmer’s Insurance office, where she was also responsible for customer service. Megan is a native of the St. Louis area, and lives in O’Fallon, MO.

Our Craftsmen

Our craftsmen all have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the building trades,  specifically the areas needed to quickly and efficiently complete a remodel or repair project: carpentry, ceramic tile, drywall/plaster, electrical, and plumbing.  They have done all types of jobs over the years: simple honey-do lists; deck repair, maintenance, and building; bathroom, kitchen, and basement remodels; basement egress windows; painting projects large and small; drywall installation and repair; plaster repair; and more!

Our craftsmen are qualified, skilled, and carefully screened before joining the company. They are bonded and fully insured for your protection and your safety. Your satisfaction is guaranteed, and we have a one year warranty on our workmanship. If we make a mistake or something is not right, we’ll make it right at no cost to you!
