I called Handyman Matters because I needed a handyman, and I didn’t have anybody in mind or access to someone who could do little things for me in my house. I found them in a service guide, read the comments, and decided it wouldn’t hurt to call them.

They immediately told me that they would come out and give an assessment of what was needed. They told me what I needed to do, and asked if I would prefer to do it myself, or if I would like them to do it. I asked him to do it, and he did it in lickity split time. Everything is working fine.

He also looked at one other thing for me, told me how to do that, and offered to do it for me as well. They were handy all the way around. You can’t go wrong calling them. I have used Handyman Matters several times. I have found them to be really great in terms of doing work for small repairs. They do the work quickly. They estimate the time in hours, which is helpful to me for understanding what I am paying for.

Theresa is extra professional, and she also understands my concerns as a homeowner. When they are in my house when I am not there they are careful not to let my pets loose and put the key where I can find it after locking up. They are very careful with the house when I am not there. I was looking for a handyman and there were only a handful that met my criteria. I chose Handyman Matters because they did a wide variety of work as opposed to others who seemed to specialize in one thing. Also, Handyman Matters did not narrow their focus to specific cities in the Bay Area as some others did. Their ad sounded warm, homey, and appealing.

I had a good experience with Handyman Matters. They were nice. Theresa, who took my information over the phone, called me back when she said she would. She was reliable and professional. The man who came out to do the work came at the time Theresa said he would be here, and that timeliness went a long way for me.

The handyman was very flexible and accommodating. I had ordered a door knocker to be installed and when he held it up to the door for me to look at, I saw that it was out of proportion with the door. I went and got another one that I had purchased earlier and had him install that one instead. Also, I had lost one of the screws for the door knocker, so he went to the store to get another screw. After we had a new roof put up, I had Handyman Matters do a lot of work around my house. There were some screens that they removed for me, and they fixed up the window casings. They also replaced a broken window in the attic and did a little repair work.

I also had Handyman Matters build a new stairway in front of the house, the old one had rotted away, with a permit of course. This project involved getting an architect. The entire process took a long time, because there were other businesses, but I was pretty patient most of the time.

I like Gregory Clark, and enjoyed him coming over to the house to make plans for the project. We went and chose railings for the stairs, and picked out different colors and styles. I was pleased with all the work when it was finished. - Eric L., Oakland, Ca

I had a hard time finding someone to put in grab bars in my shower. No one wanted to do a small job like that until I called Handyman Matters. They sent a worker out the next day and he did a really good job. He put the bars in quickly and efficiently and he cleaned up after himself.
