Just wanted to take a moment to tell you why I hired your company as opposed to the two other estimates I had received. Although I have lived in Hendersonville for four years now, I have never had the need to hire a contractor. No one I knew was able to recommend anyone either so I basically cold called three contractors Handyman Matters being one of them. Obviously your company got the job. Here are the reasons why I chose your company.
A- The stupidest reason, the carpenter let me call him "shower-dude" for five days without cursing me out. I still don't remember his name.
B- You called the night before to confirm the appointment for the estimate.
C- You included copies of your insurance and license in your emails.
D- Shower dude was on time for the appointment.
E- He listened to my concerns and made suggestions that made sense and were appropriate. (replacing the small shower with a 4ft unit instead of a 5ft one. Saving some of the all important linen closet for my girlfriend) Which worked out perfectly for our needs.
F- Shower dude was clean and presentable and didn't smell like beer. Yes one guy I swear was drunk when he showed up to give a estimate.
G- He pointed out potential problems that he may encounter once the walls were opened and how they would be corrected.
H- This is going to seem odd, but shower dude was the only one that mentioned putting in a vapor barrier between the shower stall and the studs. He got extra points for that!
I- He called either you or the supplier at the time of the estimate to make sure the materials he needed were available immediately.
J - The estimate was fairly detailed in the scope of work that needed to be done.
Once work started:
As soon as he came across a problem (the vent pipe) he stopped working, got me, and explained what he would need to do to correct the situation. Asked if that was an agreeable solution.
Shower dude was neat and cleaned up every night before he left.
He never smoked in the house even though I told him several times he could since I'm smoking like a chimney
Every day he explained what he did, how he did it and what he will do tomorrow.
Always ended his conversations with "any questions or problems."
Although I haven't seen the bathroom completed (I flew back out on Monday) my girlfriend gave him the final draw so it obviously passed her inspection. Just wanted to make sure you know that I was very pleased with shower dudes workmanship, professionalism, and attitude.
When my life settles down a bit, I have some more work that needs to be done and your company will be the first one I call and recommend to friends and family.
